The Components of Truck Suspension Air Spring
1.Strud:A permanent part of the bead plate assembly used to attacj the air spring to the suspension.
2.Combo Strud: Combination mounting stud and air fitting
3.Bead Plate: Permanently crimped onto the bellows at the factory allowing complete part leak testing prior to shipment
4.Bellows: The heart of an air spring. Includes ar least four plies, or layers, of material-an inner layer, two plies of cord-reinforced fabric, and outer layer.
5.Bumper (Optional): A solid molded rubber fail-safe device used onmany suspension applications. Preventsexcessive damage to vehicle and suspension inthe case of sudden air pressure loss.
6.Piston
The lower section of the 1T and 1X style ofairspring made from aluminum, steel or fiberreinforced plastic. Provides lower mountingarrangement for the airspring in the form oftapped holes or studs.
